Jennifer Deabner - Front Office Manager
Jennifer is the newest member to our team, but not to the practice. Jennifer has been a patient of our practice since she was a little girl, and was an intern when she attended Princess Anne high school. Jennifer has assumed all the Front Office responsibilities for the practice. It is Jennifer's voice you will be hearing when you call to make and appointment or when she calls you to remind you of one. We love her and we are sure you will to. The only irritating thing about her is that she loves Virginia Tech (tough for his Tar Heel), in fact she comes from a large family of Hokies. Jennifer is married and has two pet companions (Riley and Zoe).
Elizabeth Hale - Dental Hygienist
Liz joined Starfish Dental in 2004, and quickly won her patients over. Liz received her hygiene degree from Old Dominion University and originates from Virginia Beach where she attended Cox High School. Her skilled touch, quiet charm and dedication to her patient's dental health will warm your heart. She is very skilled in non surgical periodontal therapy and enjoys seeing her patients oral health improve. When not taking care of her patients, Liz likes to exercise, travel, eat and be with friends. She is married to Rob Hale, who has made her very happy. Liz enjoys a rigorous exercise schedule which more than makes up for those days she uncontrollably indulges on chocolate.
Leigh T. Vitek - Dental Hygienist
Leigh is one of our hygienists who performs scaling and root planing, as well as cosmetic whitening. She too graduated from Old Dominion University and has been with our practice almost 20 years. Leigh has enjoyed additional hands-on training in periodontal treatment, and has complete a course in Advanced Non-Surgical Periodontal Therapy, and Dental Anesthesia. She enjoys being with the patients and helping them become healthier. She is truly a wonderful hygienist. Patients, in turn, like her gentleness and her thoroughness. Leigh is married, and they're son Paul attends Virginia Tech, and on the pre-med track. Leigh is a native of Norfolk, where she now resides. When not at work, Leigh enjoys shopping for antiques, reading, walking, volunteering at her church, and traveling.
Lori Watts - Dental Assisting, Dental Hygienist, Office Manager
Lori first joined our dental team in 1992 as a dental assistant, she then went on to Old Dominion University and earned her degree in dental hygiene. Her diverse background in dentistry has prepared her well serve as our patient facilitator and practice administrator. Currently, Lori's primary duties are assisting Dr. Zapatero in general patient care, but she does much more in the practice. Lori has proven her dedication to her patients and our office. She enjoys meeting new patients. She says "it's fun learning new things about the field of dentistry because it's always challenging and interesting". Patients always notice her smile because they can tell she enjoys her job and her co-workers. Lori is married to Steve and they have two children, Kyle and Kacy, and a dog named Eli. They reside in Virginia Beach. During their free time, she enjoys keeping up with her children's activities and being on the water.
