A commitment to excellence started when Dr. Dag Zapatero attened the University of North Carolina School of Dentistry. Upon graduation the Zapateros moved to Virginia Beach, and established his own practice dedicated to excellence in 1993. In 2004 Dr. Zapatero was awarded Master of the Academy of General Dentistry (the highest educational degree awarded by the AGD). He has also completed Aesthetic Credentialing at UCLA School of Dentistry and graduated from several prestigious national programs including, the Seattle Institute for Dental Excellence, the UCLA Aesthetic Continuum, the New York Esthetic Continuum, and the L. D. Pankey Institute. Dr. Zapatero is currently pursuing studies to become a Pankey Scholar from the L.D. Pankey Institute, and the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition from the AGD. Dr. Zapatero has been named one of America's Top Dentist for the last 3 years!
Dr. Zapatero holds memberships the Academy of General Dentistry, the Pankey Alumni Association, Class One Triple Plus Club, The Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, The International Congress of Oral Implantologist, The American College of Oral Implantology, The Implant Prosthetic Section of the ICOI, and was a founding member of the Chesapeake Bay Network for Dental Excellence. Dr. Zapatero has focused his post-doctoral education in occlusion, esthetic, restorative, geriatric and implant dentistry.
